how ironic that it's been almost a year since i have been on here!! we are now countin down the days til we return to st. george. we actually went another time last year for labor day and we had the best time. we slept in a tent that time and pretty much stayed on the beach. we walked so far down the coast tryin to make it to the tip of the state park but two of our beach bums tired out on us and we had to carry them. we hopped from one side of the island to the other and it was so cool. the only way to get to the tip or end of the island is to have 4 wheel drive or walk......the extra 4 miles!!! it was really too far in the hot sun in september for a 3 1/2 and 5 year old. we probably got a mile down the beach. it's a great workout to carry a 25 lb. child in the sand on the beach for a mile!!! you pay for it the next day!!!! anyway, we are really excited about it........except for the fact that we could possibly have to cancel our trip because of the oil spill.... my aunt is tryin to keep us updated on the "coming ashore" situation since she lives down there. they will be sick if it actually makes it there. especially since the water is almost warm enough to get in!! i (and my kids) really hope that everything is okay.
