Well, I guess what I'm gonna have to do is post every month and make it for the whole month, being that is how long in between I put something on here!!! As you can see, there has been a new critter added to the Perry household since there weren't already 5 critters too many.....and might I go ahead and add that I AM NOT AN ANIMAL PERSON...I have said this before and I will say it 100 more times.....BUT, when I first saw this little girl, I thought I may, just a tiny bit, somewhere way down deep be a little bit of a "tiny dog" person?
This here little girl is Tilly.
Her mama is a shih tzu and her daddy is a yorkie.
And yes, she was an "accident" but we still like love her nonetheless.
She does, however, look a little possessed in this picture.
She had a long hard day though.
She went to the vet and got a shot and tried to get adjusted to OUR family!!!
and as you can see on the first day, she is not gonna be the least bit spoiled!!!
okay, now we jump to our 6 day weekend at Mexico Beach.
One of the most beautiful beaches around!
This was the first time that I can remember us going somewhere for Memorial Day weekend.
We wouldn't have gone if my mama didn't talk me into it but now I sure am glad she did!!! Just what we needed!!!!.....and now it's only 3 more weeks til we go to St. George for 7 more days!!!
I'm starting to think we should just live at the beach!
This is one thing that makes this beach so AWESOME!!! A huge tiki hut complete with swings ON THE BEACH!!! There are swings underneath, there are swings up in ther air....there are swings EVERYWHERE!!! I sat in that very first swing for almost a whole day (explination to come of why I wasn't in the sand and water playing with my kids). I seriously could've crawled under there in the sand and napped. The breeze was wonderful!!!
This was our first day. We left on Thursday afternoon and this was right after we got there while we waited on our campsite to open up.
Not that you can tell by this picture, but Ms. Rivers HATES the salt in the water!!! as you will see in pictures to come...
This was our second day. Early Friday morning we got up (another great thing about this beach is that they are an hour behind us) and went to Cape San Blas (which is about 30 mins away) at about 7 a.m.!!!
LOVE IT!!! Talk about gettin the most out of a day! Ben was admiring the sea urchins that we caught while snorkeling at Cape San Blas. Those things were everywhere..... I decided to have a school lesson that night at 10:30 right before the kids went to bed. We googled our little sea urchin friends and found out that their "roe" is a delicasy? in some countries.....and they are not venomous but hurt like the dickins if you step on them! and if you leave them out of the water for too long thier pokers/sticker things fall of.
I hate that I didn't get a picture of them....if you aren't sure of what they look like, google.
And here we have the party crowd...actually, I seriously should have been up there with them (explination, again, to come)
the "real life" little mermaid
lovely seaweed that filled the water AND seashore when we first got there....luckily it was pretty much all gone by the 2nd day and they were sweeping it off the beach.
Ben still checking out all his little beach friends....and my beautifully manicured toes....that I did myself cause I just can't justify $30 on MY FEET!!! I am a country and the less shoe the better meaning in less than a day feet will look bad again!!! anyway.
Here are the beach babies rising the waves.....they were perfect for that that day after we got there.....
and, this is what Ben did THE ENTIRE time we were there.......seriously! and this was his first fish of many that week. can you tell he was excited? Ben also lost his other front tooth while we were at the beach.....
AND, here it is.....the reason I was in the swing for an enitire day.....the reason I wasn't able to play in the sand with the babes....the reason I shoulda been under the umbrella with the party people.....and yeah, it hurt! for two days!!!
here's Ben with another one of his "catches". He said "this one has "snot"
I told him he should hold up the fish (in the bag they were in) and take a picture of all of them.....
he had another idea.....he wanted to take a picture of all of them one by one!!! only my Ben :)
he is a proud fisherman.....one day he was out in the water with 3 grown men......and was fishing circles around them.......they eventually asked him what he was fishing with......i was actually a little embarrassed for them every time he pulled a fish in......they were just trying too hard. Ben really couldn't have cared less if he didn't catch anything but that just added to the pot when he did catch all of them :)
Michael didn't even bother to take a pole out there.
here is little ms. brownie strikin a pose. she got this cute little dress from the bestie and it it a great coloor to wear with a tan!!! i must get one......
Today we took the chillins (boys mostly) to fish at the pier. They loved it!
Rivers notsomuch! can you say ALL GIRL?
Ben Ben the fisherman.
and Jake. they were so patient even though no fish were caught.
MAP did catch a stingray that sorta freaked me out...all I could think was
"Steve Irwin"
The boys were watching the man in the background very carefull and taking note....he had a seining net and was catchin mullet. They were so sparkley in the water but they were teasing him and wouldn't come quiet close enough for him to snag. He did catch a few though.
Jake made a new friend while we were at the beach. He and Annabelle were together almost the whole time. I'm glad he had somone older to play with. She was a year older so he pretty much stayed in line trying to be "grown". I must say they are cutie. :)
This child is too much! Lately, if she sees a camera and it's pointed towards her, we MUST pose! She has obviously been around her aunt and her aunts sisters too much!
Although it wasn't too funny at the time (yeah it was) it is hilarious now. Notice she only has one arm? Well, actually she has a "sand" arm complete with a "sand" hand...compliments of Jake...and yeah, she was asleep allthewhile this was going on!!! oh, dear.....AND I was sittin right beside her and didn't have a clue....
Since the day she was born, when she sleeps, she means business!
And here we have the " I have salt in my face again and if somethings not done about it quickly I am going to loose it COMPLETELY" picture that was mentioned earlier.
There was a lot of this goin on.....and it got even better when we rubbed a raw spot on our cheek and then got salt water on it!!!
all better now...PTL!
tryin a little late afternoon fishin. lots of luck!
Jake was tryin his hand at it but decided that fishin just isn't his "thing"
This was Tilly's first trip to the beach. She had a good time and was a good girl but all she did mostly was sleep :) She'll be going to St. George too but this time she'll get to go out on the beach......not sure how that is gonna work cause she DOES NOT like the heat. we'll see :)
Also this week, I finally got to put up fresh butterbeans in my freezer!!! I was/am soooo excited about this. I got 36 quarts.....and all of these were FREE!!! well, actually I traded 10 gallons of my lovely blueberries for them.....and it was a trade well worth it! :)
these still have a ways to go but there are a lots blue ones put there!!!
